Quick Fix Stain First Aid…

1. Act Quickly.
LIQUIDS: Blot up as much as possible with a clean absorbent cloth or tissue.
SOLIDS: Scrape up as much as possible with a spoon or the blunt edge of a knife.
2. Don’t Scrub Hard.
Using a clean sponge or cloth, mop up the remaining spill carefully, working from the edges of the spill towards the centre. Never over-wet, scrub or rub too hard.
3. Dry the Area
Blot dry with a new pad or absorbent cloth or towel.
4. Finishing Up
Lift and aerate the carpet or upholstery pile with a soft brush or towel. When dry, vacuum.
Remember…
•    Spots and stains are easiest to remove when fresh – don’t delay!
•    Have your carpet and upholstery professionally cleaned every 6-12 months.
AVOID supermarket spotters, shampooing or dry cleaning methods on carpets or upholstery. They can leave a residue which actually attracts and holds dirt and many can have a bleaching effect. WE do sell a professional, safe Spotter which will not leave dirt attracting residue, see below.

The Quick Fix Stain First Aid info covers most of the normal spills that occur in the home. For special treatment of some more difficult spills and stains, refer to the Handy Stain Treatment chart - * Always test in inconspicuous area for colour fastness before application. Sponge with water and a clean damp cloth after treatment. Allow to dry then vacuum area.
